Was reading a blog by rahul bose,it was about the polling results by a newspaper..though published sometime back..voting mumbai as the topper of the rudest city list. A valid question that arises here is who all had the time as well as inclination to sit down n vote! There can be so many varied ways this word "rude" can be interpreted..atleast for me. Not that i agree with the milder counterpart "not so polite"...the ways of putting the thing may be different but yes it surely highlights a single dimensional viewpoint that can well be a point of debate..at the moment going on in me.
Taking India into a magnifying glass one can be sure as hell that not many cities define a flattering side or for that matter are even worse, why only highlight mumbai. A city with so much to offer,so many different ways of living,so much disparity but still battling it out with the times n keeping its head high above the drowning tides(no pun intended),needs to be applauded than ridiculed for what only a fraction of people feel.
Today when life demands more and amidst so high aspirations, when one knows that every second person is a stranger in his own way,the right to be "intelligently" rude is invested with all of us..i mean each and every one of us leave alone the mumbaikars. The point of thought arises where the understanding of the word "intelligent" itself is concerned, thousand ways again pop up that interpret a word so minute yet so important in a way not even an oxford can compile.
"Indians smell like curry"...yes these i quote, said by someone from the heavens land...the land where the rules of life are written and rewritten to suit the needs of a few better loved people of god,The United States of Almighty America. Now that sure was a courteous display of politeness that we the Indians do not believe in ,no matter whatever anyone may say. I choose to include the entire India rather than just defend a particular state coz we make it a country that is so proud of its morals..yes there has been some deterioration in values but rude is too harsh a word to be used...or may i say implied.
India in its own little way caters to daily display of human emotions with lives tired to carry on in the same monotonous way, always showing a tinge of sweet n' sugary mannerism is demanding way too much.
Other nations aren't chocolate coated strawberries but this blog isn't to transfer the "rudeness" or pass it on,its here to say "mumbai with all its flaws,India with all its flaws..are quite near to being flawless when it comes to reality". We choose to say what we feel and if being open on views is being rude...The moral of the story is....."we'd love to top the polls again".
